CLOTHES N’ THINGS

i broke down and bought quite a bit…! but it’s spring, so it’s time for a new wardrobe anyway…! hehe :D

ROMPER F21 // H&M GARDEN

Been eyeing this romper on the F21 website for a while now, finally decided to try it on, and i LOVE IT! I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet but soon, SOON! When I showed what I bought to my friend, she asked me how I am going to go to the washroom; err there are rippable buttons. (The boatneck top didn’t come with it but it seemed so plain without it!) // This is a piece from the H&M garden collection, it’s so gorgeous with 3D chiffon? roses.

H&M GARDEN

this is one of those shirts that’s advertised to be ridiculous cheap, worn by a glamorous looking model telling you that you too can look like her. It was sold out when I got there, but luckily I have friends that work at H&M. :D

GAP 1969 DENIM BIKER JACKET

was a bit OCD about this jacket since it appeared on the gap website, none of the local stores carried it until i assaulted one of the GAP sales staff when I was working because she mentioned that she bought one. I didn’t manage to grab an XS but while S is a bit loose I don’t think it’ll be a huge problem. alas I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet, had to pull out my down jacket today…

Today the second Stella McCartney for GAP collection releases online and in store! I wonder if Stella will do another collection. It’s hugely popular! And I was so kicking myself when I ended up returning the leopard sweater from the fall/ winter collection. From the preview pictures and the website; this is the only thing that I wanted. When i woke up late today, i was in the dilemma of going to the store to grab this pair of sandals or going to class. I chose going to class, but I was worrrrried that it would be sold out in my size by the time I get there after school. So I called in and had it on hold for me since when I checked the web store this morning size 5 was SOLD OUT.

a note about sizing if you’re interested in these: they run small. I can fit in to size 3 children’s converse but I had to get size 4 in these. Also the website is a bit misleading; size 5 in girls seem to be the largest size but when i put both size 4 and 5 on hold, size 5 is a toddler’s size and 4 is the largest size it ran, at least in canada. I didn’t get anything else in the collection, it was pretty much gone anyway.

anyway i think they are adorable and the ties are so whimsical, they are children’s shoes so expect comfort and hopefully durability! Oh yeah, Gap finally sprang for special shopping bags for the event. :D

time to write my article on accelerated evolution of resistance in multi-drug environments, FUN!

SUMMER DAYS W/ COO (U)

We got to watch a portion of this movie during class today, dont know the ending yet so if you have watched it don’t spoil it for me YET! :D

made my day

scenery was so gorgeous that i wanted to take a dive in the pond too

COOOOO!

STUPID GRIN

DRAGONETTE – STUPID GRIN

the lead for the manvils, nice jean jacket, and they came out personally to do the work of roadies after their show.

It was a really gooooood show, fun, energetic and Martina (the lovely lead) was super fun and cute. I read that the Dragonette always puts on a show, what that meant I wasn’t sure. But she was so adorable, using her minnie mouse voice to tell us she doesn’t get invited to parties, and dancing out each song like she’s acting out a movie.

She also had these amazing tights/ pants, leather in the front but some kind of nylon material in the back. Yeah ok.

But it seems it’s not in my fate to get a good view of a concert EVER. Why are people so tall, why? And there’s usually only two really tall people and they always end up in front of me. the sad part is that the hall was pretty much empty when the manvils played so i could have easily moved to the front but i decided, nah let’s stay here where it’s comfortable.

it became uncomfortable so fast, why do people who text the whole time go to a concert? WHY O_O

And i wish people would stop treating a concert like a rave, it’s not a rave.. ! Other than that, it was a good night.

I had a video too,but upon reviewing it’s ridiculously shaky, due to the dancing and the texting and the jumping of other people.

P.S. Amanda does photography for concerts, they’re reallly good! And lucky her, gets to be in front of the fence, though there were no fences at dragonette. But I literally got 4 good shots, the ones you see here, and good is debatable.

:$

Hi, i’d like this please wrapped in calvin klein

i dont know why i didnt include shia in my top 5 , i think he’s too damn special to be put in a ‘list’ because lists never come true

SO MUCH WORK SO MUCH WORK

what am i doing? procrastinating of course! but at least today is a lovely day, wore my leather jacket with cashmere scarf and cashmere gloves, but in the afternoon had to stuff both over sized winter accessories in my bag! it’s just too warm for such unnecessary amenities.

i’m literally swamped with papers (literally pieces of paper) right now, won’t bore you with the details..

going to share a few blogs/ sites im really loving right now! some of these may be really famous but i only recently discovered them so i hope you find some use in them too!

this song feels spring-y to me, i dont know why

BIG ECHO – EXCUSES

MR.NEWTON - much like JAK&JIL or The Sartorialist or The Face Hunter. Mr.Newton is at fashion shows, well more like outside of fashion shows, photographing editors, models, famous people and some not so famous people! Amazing photos. And what’s better is that he gives them to us in XL chunks. Here are some of my recent favorites!

(TOP left to right: KATE LANPHEAR! my style icon! Lovely girl with flowers in her bag, signifies the arrival of spring! although i heard paris is really cold right now? BOTTOM Garance, love the navy inspiration As well as her (more than one color) Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton bag! want want! Curly haired gal: can’t get enough of camel colored coats for fall)

LE BLOG DE BETTY - amazing french girl with looks like Zoey Deschanel! the first time I saw her I double-took and thought it WAS Zoey. I really like her because she re-uses items in her outfits, with some fashion blogs it’s impossible to learn how to style from their pictures because they seem to be constantly getting new items, which is more than impossible for us. She also uses a lot of staple items in her outfits and it’s not super trendy! Just because we don’t have the same philip lim 3.1 coat doesn’t mean we can’t re-create the looks! (love philip lim 3.1 !!! <3 )But what i envy the most is her shoe boots collection.

(denim shirts are a staple!! / i really want a jumper / jump suit for spring, black or electric blue please! / Alexander Wang cat-eye sunglasses! :D / amazing Jeffrey Campbell wedges + not bad YSL bag toooo )

MISS PANDORA - another french girl that’s a lot more classic, it’ll be difficult for me to try her style because it’s so classic but she always has amazing photos.

time for w-w-w-ork now ! yay..!

edit: MR NEWTON has a law degree, horray! who else has a law degree? Bob + Ben (of The Hundreds) . I absolutely admire people that fell into something they weren’t suppose to be falling into.

INTERNET AND ME, A LOVE STORY

interestingly that i chose to watch HOUSE on this friday night filled with popcorn and nail polish. no im really just catching up on all the TV i didn’t get to watch the past week and that i won’t be watching next week.

this week’s house, if you follow house, was actually about a blogger (being the patient, not focused on her of course, it was played by that redhead in that 70s show, she’s blonde here)

a few days ago in class, the professor brought up ‘bloggers’ as a group of people in a certain context, but it felt like they should be people that we distance our selves from, like pedophiles.

She used the term ‘they’, THEY is ME! I’m not upset that i’m being put into a very special circle for very special children. but that it’s still not commonly accepted to be a blogger. Unless you’re a popular blogger then that’s a totally different story, but still it’s not that common.

but i love the niche that i have created.

So back to House, they tackle some medical issues of course, but what struck a cord with me was that the patient felt unconnected with her husband and she uses blogging as a form of communication with people, to share her thoughts and to obtain opinions.

this is merely speculation on my part but i think bloggers all start out being a little bit lonely.

(also they all want to write so… )

i really want to talk to someone sometimes, i start awkward conversations on MSN. i’m talking about Michael Cera level of awkward here.

it’s basically me trying to talk with someone, someone that i know in real life, someone that i find interesting. in hopes of making a part time friend that i could call and talk to , or maybe even hang out together sometimes. but of course they don’t find me interesting back. i always try to over compensate by being helpful or extremely funny. fail and fail and fail some more. let’s shut this operation down.

SHUT IT DOWN

I know that i’m definitely LESS lonely with blogging, and blogs and communities, some of my favorite things to do is read rants on various news sites, people are hilarious and opinionated.

who’s sick of hearing stuff like “i see what you are saying but i think…” or “while your point is excellent, this is…”

but on the internet, we get straight to the point! people have extremely intelligent debates and discussions in the comment sections!

All these lonely folks who are intelligent, who are interested in films, REAL BOOKS, music and general goodness of pop culture? who are you?

STILL WINTER

THE PRETENDERS – BREAK UP THE CONCRETE

IT’S SO DAMN COLDDD HEREEEE! IRONIC HOW THE SNOW STARTED TO FALL AFTER THE OLYMPICS!

ack..

but on a lighter note, i ordered sunglasses! how adventurous of me! I went to a very high-end department store the other day and tried on a lot of sunglasses, i don’t want to buy anything too gaudy, so all the chanels and guccis are out! But ironically, I ended up deciding to buy Wayfarers, the most recognized sunglasses of our generation.

GASP! $$190 + 12% tax..

honey, it’s just plastic isn’t it!?

But i reallly want them, so I do what any smart shopper would do, I buy them online! I immediately went on amazon.com to search for raybans (yeah i seriously buy everything off of amazon these days) , I found a lot of really great prices! But, there are sizes?? It’s not easy to find a good pair of sunglasses and now there are size issues??

the following week, I went to a local unnamed glasses store and tried on many pairs of sunglasses until I determined the size, i’m sorry that i’m singlehandedly bringing down physical retail. But it’s so much cheaper online! Oh wells, they’re corporate, they can handle it.

Ended up paying $130 USD, wooooooot :D

that wasn’t a very exciting entry…

i think it’s because i concentrated too hard on my assignment about spandrels and evolution. it sucked all the wit and sarcasm out of me..

i just wanted to share how cold it is right now, so please feel sorry for me.

but at least i was finally able to put these gloves to good use!

WHITE POWDER

Linkin Park – In Between

I was on my way to the bus station. Despite everything I felt pretty good. I wasn’t skipping down the sidewalk or anything, but I liked some things about myself and I didn’t wan to die. It was the closest I’d been to optimistic in years. — Apathy and Other Small Victories by Paul Neilan

Second half of the book felt like it was written drunk, it felt a bit rushed and some what inconsistent with the beginnings. Timeline felt a bit more warped than usual, but it’s weird and funny. The type of funny isn’t as LOL as some other books you might have read. But as you read, you’ll stop and chuckle and return to reading. It’s not that easy to put down, so time-block a bit for this one. Oh lots of vulgarity, which I like very much.

In the book there’s a what is described as -sadistic corporate climber- woman. After reading about her and her behaviors, it’s what we are suppose to aspire to. Obviously not everyone wants to be a corporate exec, but these goal oriented, let-not-one-day pass life style that we lead is somewhat unhealthy. and it’s ironic since i just posted an entry about time-blocking on my other blog!

let’s hope that my kind of ‘doing-well’ is different, because right now i’m not really sure there could be a difference.

let’s hope that my kind of ‘doing-well’ is different, because right now i’m not really sure there could be a difference.

wikipedia described this book as a “possibly part of a trend of novels focusing on directionless people of an unusually young age for such restlessness”

won’t it be ironic if young people HAD directions? But i’m also rooting for direction-less anti-heros, who find people that got it together interesting? isn’t it the raw human emotions of struggle much more beautiful? okay i’ll shut up now…! It was also cute how he focused on cubicle-hate, that’s so early 2000 late 1990s! We don’t work in cubicles anymore, we suffer in open spaces with 20 year olds as our CEOs, not making money but getting to attend the Grammys. Oh wait, I work for GAP, i’m just going to take this battery pack and smack it over my head now.

I sincerely hope I get to be a 20-something thats making it and getting there with my innovation and love for the environment, I’m 21 and i think it’s too damn late.

Also Paul writes a blog, which wikipedia described as ‘regularly upating’, his last entry dated 2008… it’s..not 2008 anymore. And the kicker is he uses typepad, innovation, you gota love it.

OH YEAH, my biggest impression of the book, he writes like he’s British, the whole time i felt like i was reading a book from across the pond, but it’s from America, he writes like he’s British. quite mind blowing actually..

what a random entry, new hair cut after the cut
